Look around your world pretty baby
Is it everything you hoped it’d be
The wrong guy, the wrong situation
The right time to roll to me
Look into your heart pretty baby,
Is it aching with some nameless need.
Is there something wrong and you can’t put your finger on it
Right then, roll to me
And I don’t think I have ever seen a soul so in despair
So if you want to talk the night through
Guess who will be there?
So don’t try to deny it pretty baby,
You’ve been down so long you can hardly see
When the engine’s stalled and it won’t stop raining
It’s the right time to roll to me
Look around your world pretty baby
Is it everything you hoped it’d be
The wrong guy, the wrong situation
The right time to roll to me
Was listening to "Slide" – the Friday 90's segment on 88.3 today. This was one of those unforgettable songs for college…
Now that she's back in the atmosphere With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey She acts like summer and walks like rain Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey Since the return from her stay on the moon She listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey
Tell me did you sail across the sun Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded And that heaven is overrated
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star One without a permanent scar And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there
Now that she's back from her soul vacation Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo Reminds me that there's time to grow, hey, hey
Now that she's back in the atmosphere I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol' Jane Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never did land
Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head beck to the Milky Way And tell me, did Venus blow your mind Was it everything you wanted to find And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had… and me
Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day And head back toward the Milky Way
Repeat 1st Chorus
I heard her on the radio this morning.
I like her. She’s going to be in Manila next week.
I hope I get to catch her.
This song is perfect at the moment.
Really enjoying it. Hope you enjoy “The Show” by Lenka.
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
Slow it down
Make it stop
Or else my heart is going to pop
'Cause it's too much
Yeah, it's a lotTo be something I'm not
I'm a fool
Out of love 'Cause I just can't get enough
I'm just a little bit caught in the middleL
ife is a maze and love is a riddle
I don't know where to go I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out
It's bringing me down I know
I've got to let it go
And just enjoy the show
The sun is hot
In the sky
Just like a giant spotlight
The people follow the sign
And synchronize in time
It's a joke
Nobody knows
They've got a ticket to that show
Yeah
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I dont know where to go
I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out
It's bringing me down I know
I've got to let it go
And just enjoy the show
Just enjoy the show
I'm just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I dont know where to go
I can't do it alone I've tried
And I don't know why
I'm just a little girl lost in the moment
I'm so scared but I don't show it
I can't figure it out It's bringing me down I know
I've got to let it go
And just enjoy the show
dum de dumdudum de dum
Just enjoy the show
dum de dumdudum de dum
Just enjoy the show
I want my money back I want my money back I want my money back
Just enjoy the show
I want my money back I want my money back I want my money back
Just enjoy the show
Everyone wants to be validated at one point or another in their lifetime. Some are lucky enough to get it everyday from their spouse, their partner, their colleague, their best friend, and even from random strangers like this parking attendant…
Some people may be too proud to say they want to be validated. Some may think it's just a silly-warm-fuzzy-feeling sort of thing and they don't need it. I personally think it's part of life and we should all either give or receive validation in some form and at the most genuine sense in one way or another because it helps promote productive and positive things. Why do you think rewards and recognition work? It's because people feel good about themselves and have a bigger tendency to be better than what they already are. I'm not about to apply as a parking attendant so I can tell people how good they are, nor am I going to line up and look for someone to validate my ticket… but I will make sure I make people smile and that I learn to validate my own simple joys in life. Although, I just wish more people in this world have a more positive outlook in life. I wish people were friendlier and more genuine about their smiles. I know you might say there aren't too many things to smile about lately with all the hardships we go through, the tragedies and wars around the world. But you know what, it starts with the simple things. You can smile about your new puppy getting potty trained. You can smile about the report you submitted on time to your boss. You can smile about a wrinkle-free shirt as you walk in the office. You can smile about how you only spent 20 minutes in traffic instead of 30 which gave you enough time to buy coffee which also gave you another reason to smile. All of this you can share with a friend and make them feel special about themselves too. Guess what – you just gave them a form of validation. Guess what else? It made your friend feel great and it made YOU feel great too. So get out there and get someone validated!
Well, we come to an end after 20 weeks of the original strict Photo Challenge format. We’ve lost two contributors along the way, with a third just hanging in there. I am benefiting creatively by shooting in styles I am not familiar with, so instead of setting formal challenges online each fortnight I’m going to change [...] […]
There is a lot of scope to be particularly creative on this one, and I did think about that for my own personal submission. However, I also felt it was important to remain true to my particular style, and moving into a more artistic world does not represent who I am as a photographer. I [...] […]
This was a fun theme, and for mine, the hardest part of shooting this was trying to nail it down to one image. There are so many textures one could shoot. The other thing this challenge did was make me realise how much I need a macro lens. In the end I had to crop [...] […]
